LG has already registered the next models of its V-series. The range will be extended in the coming years with the inclusion of the LG V50, V60, V70, V80 and V90. LG has already trademarked it at the CIPO (Canadian Intellectual Property Office) where the company requested at the end of October the protection for all these models names for the brand. Meaning, LG intends to continue working on this smartphone range until V90, which could release in the year 2023

The next flagship of the V series will probably be the LG V50 ThinQ. Although the company could also present an LG V45 ThinQ in a few months, just as there has also been a V35 ThinQ. However, this model device has not been registered. The latest model of the V series has been the LG V40, announced a few weeks ago. This device competes with the latest flagship smartphones, such as the Apple iPhone XS Max, Google Pixel 3 XL, and the Samsung Galaxy Note 9.

LG’s V-lineup is a relatively young series consisting of devices that are more advanced than the flagship G-series. The first V-series phone was launched in September 2015, the V10. With this series, LG is trying to take on Samsung’s Galaxy Note smartphones, which are revealed annually around August.

A new LG G series device is usually released around February after they are shown at Mobile World Congress. The MWC 2019 will take place on February 25-28 in Barcelona, Spain, where the LG G8 ThinQ should be unveiled.

Earlier this year it was already rumored that LG could merge the G and V lineups. These rumors could become true, as the IPs only have the V-series. That said, the merger could yet happen a bit later since the company has already trademarked the G lineup until 2020.
