The Moto G6 lineup is set to launch later this month on April 19. In the meantime, Lenovo-owned Motorola has revamped the Moto Camera app that will no doubt be available on the upcoming smartphones. Also Read - 21 adware gaming apps discovered on Google Play store: Full list

The overhaul is not only restricted to the Camera app UI, but also includes the app icon, 9To5Google reports. In place of the hexagonal icon, Motorola has now opted for a more standard icon against a plain dark blue background . The Moto Camera app UI has been given a modern look, with simplicity being the theme. Also Read - Paytm announces Rs 10 crore fund for its new Mini App Store developers

As you can see in the below screenshots, the default camera screen now has three sections to choose from photo, video, and mode select. You can swipe the screen to move through the sections. The mode select section lets you choose between panoramas, slow-motion video, and camera settings.

At the top, you will see options to toggle HDR mode, flash, timer, and Manual mode. The Manual mode essentially includes options to tweak different settings while clicking a photo. Moto smartphones with dual-camera setup will see a prominent button near the top to switch between the two.

Motorola seems to be slowly rolling out the new Moto Camera app to older smartphones. But it seems like a phased roll out, so if you don t see an update, you might have to wait a bit. The upcoming Moto G6 smartphones though could come with the new app built-in. On April 19, Motorola is expected to take the wraps off three smartphones Moto G6, Moto G6 Play, and the Moto G6 Plus.

The Moto G6 Play is likely to be the entry-level device. It is rumored to feature a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 427 SoC, a single-camera setup at the back, and a 4,000mAh battery. Next up will be the Moto G6, which is rumored to feature a 5.7-inch full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, Snapdragon 450 SoC, 32GB onboard storage, dual-camera setup, a 3,000mAh battery, and a fingerprint sensor. The most expensive of the three will be the Moto G6 Plus. Being a ‘Plus’ variant, it is likely to feature a 5.93-inch full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio, and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC.
