Hungama also offers a free app for its service which lets users stream unlimited music but it is ad-supported and also doesn t offer offline access. The Hungama PRO app, which was launched in June last year, comes with caching feature, which enables consumers to save their music and video onto their handsets so that it can be played without a working data connection. Unlike its free version, the PRO app also offers integrated service of audio and videos, making it easier to find all the content from within an app. Hungama recently added support for multi-lingual transliteration feature so that users can access the service in their preferred language English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Punjabi.
The two companies have collaborated in the past as well. In 2010, Hungama Mobile had launched a social and on-demand music service called MusicConnect for Aircel subscribers. Aircel has been constantly tapping on the music and entertainment services.
The carrier launched Mobile Radio, an IVR-based music streaming service in August earlier this year in partnership with Techzone, a mobile value added service (MVAS). Users were required to call on a toll-free number to listen to songs for free without any need of subscription.
