After disrupting the telecom space, Reliance Jio has its eyes set on the broadband space in India. At the 41st AGM, Reliance Jio announced that it will soon be launching the JioGigaFiber FTTH (fiber-to-the-home) broadband service, with registrations starting on August 15. To ensure there is a tough competition ahead of JioGigaFiber launch, Airtel is offering a 20 percent discount on its broadband plans.
However, there is a small catch. Spotted by TelecomTalk, the 20 percent discount is applicable on a yearly payment, whereas subscribers opting for a half-yearly payment get 15 percent discount. The discount is applicable across all cities where Airtel offers its broadband plans. The maximum speed that Bharti Airtel is offering with its plans is 300Mbps.
