In order to attract more subscribes to its service, Airtel Online Store has been offering some exciting EMI plans on a range of smartphones across popular brands and price points. Till now however, customers who wanted to avail the EMI offer had no other choice but to opt for a postpaid plan from the telco. Now to give users more flexibility of choice, Airtel is accompanying EMI options on some of the smartphones with prepaid plans as well. However, the scheme is only limited to the Nokia 6.1 Plus, Nokia 7 Plus, and the Oppo F9 Pro as of now. According to the website, when buying any of the above-mentioned smartphones, users will get the option to choose between a postpaid plan or a prepaid plan. Those who opt for the latter will be getting 1.4GB of data per day for the next year. Not just that, the included plan also offers unlimited voice calling and 100 SMS per day benefits. To get the smartphone, users simply have to make a down payment for the selected smartphone and pay a certain EMI for 12 months. The monthly EMI would cover the remaining cost of the smartphone and the fee for the Airtel recharge plan which seems to be similar to its Rs 199 monthly plan that offers the same benefits.

It should be noted that when put together, the down payment and the EMI cost slightly higher compared to what the smartphones have been listed on Amazon and Flipkart. However, here Airtel is offering the flexibility of pay and the added perks of the prepaid plan for a whole year, which should bring the cost close to what you ll you spend on it anyway. That said, it also depends on what plan you opt for and if you buy the smartphone with EMI.
