Users get unlimited calling without any FUP restrictions.
The plan also includes 100 free SMS daily.
It bundles 4GB high-speed data.
As the ongoing price vs tariff war intensifies, telecom operators are introducing new plans, and also revising old plans to offer better data benefits. Bharti Airtel has revised the Rs 289 prepaid plan with increased validity, and more data. With this plan, the telco is doing everything it can to regain the top spot it recently lost to the newly-minted Vodafone Idea Limited.
Airtel has launched a new prepaid plan that, at least for now, is only available in the Kolkata circle. Priced at Rs 289, the plan comes with a validity of 84 days, and offers unlimited local/STD calls without any Fair Usage Policy (FUP) restrictions. Customers also get 4GB of data and 100 text messages per day.
Interestingly, Airtel’s new offering comes just days after Vodafone introduced a similar prepaid plan. Having a cost of Rs 279, Vodafone’s plan offers also has a validity of 84 days, and offers unlimited voice calls & messages, along with 4GB of data. That said, there’s some cap on the total outgoing minutes per day and per week in case of Vodafone’s offering, while Airtel’s plan is truly unlimited.

Talking about arch-rival Reliance Jio, it also has a plan with an 84-day validity, but it’s priced a little higher at Rs 399. Customers get unlimited voice calls, 100 text messages per day, and 1.5GB data per day. There’s also a complimentary subscription for the entire suite of Jio’s apps thrown into the mix. So, by paying Rs 101 extra, Jio users get 1.5GB daily data, which is a total of 126GB data during through the entire validity period.
