Bharti Airtel, the largest telecom service provider in the country, has announced another pocket-friendly plan for its prepaid subscribers. The telecom player has launched a pocket-friendly plan priced at Rs 47 that rivals Reliance Jio‘s Rs 52 tariff plan and Vodafone’s Rs 47 prepaid pack.
Vodafone was the first to challenge Reliance Jio by launching Rs 47 plan and now, Bharti Airtel is also following suit. One of the key highlight of the new pocket friendly plan from Airtel is the validity of 28 days. This suggests that Airtel is targeting basic users with its offer as opposed to its rivals. The benefits offered with this plan, however, can be described as sub-par and does not match Jio’s benefits.
With its prepaid pack priced at Rs 47, Airtel is offering free voice calls, SMS and data benefits for a month. The plan is being offered as an open market offering, which means it will be available across the country and not restricted to a certain market. In terms of benefits, Airtel is offering a total of 7,500 local, STD and national roaming seconds with the Rs 47 prepaid plan.
The second convert to a total of 125 minutes for a period of 28 days. The plan also offers 50 SMS and 500MB of 2G/3G/4G data for the entire validity period. Vodafone, which offers similar plan priced at Rs 47 as well, offers same benefits for its open market plan.
Reliance Jio’s Rs 52 prepaid plan has a validity of 7 days but offers data benefit of 1.05GB. The Mukesh Ambani-led telco is offering 0.15GB per day along with unlimited voice calls, 70 SMS and subscription to Jio Apps. Idea Cellular also offers a tariff plan priced at Rs 75 that offers better benefits.

The new Rs 47 pocket friendly plan from Airtel is the second plan from the company. It had previously introduced Rs 99 prepaid plan, which offers 2GB of 2G/3G/4G data, unlimited voice calls without any FUP and 100 SMS per day. The plan, which is available for only select users, comes with a validity of 28 days.
