After revising a bunch of its offers lately, Airtel is apparently now also revising its Rs 399 prepaid plan. Reportedly, the network provider is increasing the validity of the offer from the current 70 days to 84 days.
While we could still see the plan with the older 70 days validity, according to a screenshot shared by Gadgets 360, the Airtel website for some shows the plan with the new 84 days validity. Now, either the rollout of the offer is phased, or its region specific. BGR India has reached out to Airtel India to find out the specifics of the plan and if at all the validity is being revised.
This is the second time in one month that Airtel is revising this particular plan. Earlier in January, Airtel revamped the plan to boost its validity from 28 days to 70 days. Besides the validity, other things on offer have been mostly the same, which is, 1GB of 3G/4G data per day, unlimited local, STD, and roaming voice calls, as well as 100 SMS per day.
However, if the validity increase to 84 days is true, it definitely places the Airtel plan on a better footing in its battle against Reliance Jio. In comparison, the Jio plan offers 1.5GB 4G data per day (post which unlimited access is at 64Kbps), unlimited voice calls, 100 SMS per day, and a complimentary subscription to Jio apps. The validity of the Jio Rs 398 pack, however, is 70 days.
Simultaneously, Airtel has also revised its Rs 149 prepaid plan, limited to a few circles, specifically Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The plan now offer 1GB of 3G/ 4G data with a 28-day validity, along with 100 SMS a day.
