Airtel has introduced a new plan to counter Reliance Jio. The new Rs 448 plan by Airtel offers unlimited voice calls along with a daily data usage of 1GB for a period of 70 days to prepaid subscribers.

If you’re an Airtel subscriber, you can avail the benefits of the plan and make unlimited local and STD calls. However, there’s a cap of 250 minutes per day or 1,000 minutes per week. So if you use 200 minutes daily, the remaining 50 minutes of free talk time will be over after five days.

However, if you exhaust the quota on a daily basis, then the limit will last for four days, NDTV notes. You will have to wait for the next week for the next 1,000 minutes of free calling quota. Post the talktime quota, you will be charged 30 paise per minute. ALSO READ: Airtel to shut down 3G network in 3-4 years, continue 2G, 4G: CEO Gopal Vittal

In addition to the talktime quota, Airtel is also offering free 100 daily SMS quota. The 3G/4G data usage on offer is unlimited to a maximum of 1GB per day, which basically translates to 70GB of data. Roaming is inclusive free of cost in the plan.

The latest plan is in competition with the popular Rs 459 plan by Reliance Jio. The plan offers similar benefits such as unlimited free voice calling and daily data quota at 1GB/day rate. However, Jio’s plan is valid for a period of 84 days while Airtel’s plan is valid for just 70 days. DON’T MISS: Apple iPhone X: Airtel offers Rs 10,000 cashback for postpaid customers
