Amidst tough competition with Vodafone and Reliance Jio for prepaid subscribers, Airtel has launched a new prepaid plan to win over budget users. The Airtel Rs 168 prepaid plan has been launched, offering unlimited calls within India, 1GB of daily data usage on Airtel’s network (up to 4G speeds), and 100 SMS per day. Interestingly, there is no FUP limit on the calling, and users can use the plan to make as many calls as they need. The recharge is valid for 28 days. Apart from this, according to Telecom Talk, the company is also offering a free subscription to Hello Tunes, the company’s caller tune service that changes the ringing tone for people that call the subscriber. While these were very popular a decade or so ago, there are still some takers for the service even today among subscribers. Worth noting though, is that the Rs 168 plan isn’t available across all of Airtel’s circles right now. The report suggests that it’s only available in Delhi, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, and in some other circles it’s available with the same benefits but with a validity of 20 days. For the time being, the most common plan with similar benefits available everywhere in India is the Rs 199 plan which offers 28 days of validity, unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day, and 1.4GB of data per day.
