With the on-going data war, telecom operators have been frequently revising their plans to offer better benefits to its users. Airtel recently introduced the Rs 289 plan with 48 days validity and 1GB daily data, and now, the company has introduced an affordable prepaid plan priced at Rs 195 with voice and data benefits.

The new Rs 195 plan is only offered in select circles such as Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, Kerala, among others, TelecomTalk reports. The plan offers unlimited local and national calling without any FUP limit, and unlimited roaming. There is however no free messaging benefits. Talking about data benefits, the plan offers 1.25GB daily 3G / 4G data, meaning users can download a total of 35GB through the validity of 28 days.

For users who want SMS benefits too, the Rs 168 plan from Airtel would be a good option to go for. It offers unlimited calling, unlimited roaming, 100 free SMS, 28 days validity, but data benefits are slightly reduced to 1GB per day. This means, users will be able to download a maximum of 28GB through the validity period.

The Airtel Rs 195 plan directly competes with Rs 198 plan from Reliance Jio. The plan offers a validity of 28 days, and 2GB daily 4G data, which means users can download up to 56GB data through the validity period. Once the daily data limit is hit, the speed will be throttled to 64Kbps.

The plan also offers truly unlimited local and national voice calling, and unlimited SMS with a cap of 100 per day. That’s not all, users also get complimentary access to Jio suite of apps, which includes JioMovies, JioTV, JioMusic, and JioMags among others. Once again, even though Airtel is trying to be aggressive, it cannot match or surpass the benefits offered by Jio.
