Apple could buy Netflix, say analysts
According to analysts at Citi, Apple could acquire Netflix, which is contrary to the company launching its own subscription-based video streaming platform. The analysts claim Apple will use the influx of new funds made possible by new tax cut announced by President Donald Trump to acquire the video platform. However, the analysts say there is only a 40 percent chance of the deal going through.
Apple has over $250 billion in cash reserve, but it is not known for making major acquisitions like its counterparts IBM and Google. However, it has been taking significant efforts to strengthen its original content play, and might even end up grabbing Netflix to leapfrog in the segment.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5
Xiaomi is planning to launch the Redmi Note 5, the successor to its best-selling Redmi Note 4 smartphone in the second quarter of 2018. The new report contradicts a previous MIUI thread claiming Xiaomi is dropping the Note brand and the new Redmi 5 Plus is the real successor to Redmi Note 4.
The Redmi Note 5 is reportedly delayed because Xiaomi is waiting for Qualcomm to ship its next-generation octa-core Snapdragon 632 chipset. The rumors suggest that Redmi Note 5 will feature a 5.99-inch display, 4GB RAM and retail at around RMB 1,599 (approximately Rs 16,000).

The Lava Red variant is currently exclusive to China and OnePlus might use Republic Day as an opportunity to launch the product here. The Lava Red variant of OnePlus 5T is only available in 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage option. In India, the OnePlus 5T is currently available in Midnight Black and Star Wars Limited Edition variants.

The discounted price is reportedly only available from offline retailers and will be available only till January 5.
Xiaomi pioneered the bezel-less smartphone trend with Mi MIX last year, and the second-generation steps up the game with thin profile, brushed metal back, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, Snapdragon 835 chipset, 5.99-inch Full HD+ display, Android Nougat and 3,400mAh battery.
