Since Reliance Jio entered and disrupted the Indian telecom space, there have been a lot of changes. Recently, telecom operators Vodafone, Airtel and Idea Cellular made a big move by phasing out talk time plans across the country. This means, you will no longer be able to make basic talk time recharges such as Rs 20, 30, 100, 200, and so on. In order to make and receive calls, you’ll now need to recharge with add on plans, STVs and long-term plans.
The move by telecom operators will help boost their ARPUs that have been falling down after Jio’s entry. As of now, only three talk time recharges are available – priced at Rs 10, Rs 1,000 and Rs 5,000. If you feel the pricing is too steep, there are bonus recharge plans that you can take recharge on your number. All three operators offer the same denomination value and the benefits are more or less the same.
