Alcatel 1 smartphone expected to launch soon, to be priced at $89

Alcatel 1 seems to be getting closer to a launch date. Earlier in the week, we got to have a good look at it specifications and features. Now, the company has made the product official by listing the smartphone on its official website. While a launch date is not mentioned, the smartphone is priced at $89 (approximately Rs 6,100). The phone is stated to be available in select markets, which experts believe will be in US and Europe.

From the looks of it, the phone features a 5-inch FullView 18:9 display, with a resolution of 960×480 pixels. In hunt for the taller display, the device has ditched the fingerprint sensor. The phone features a metallic finish which is available in blue, gold, and black color variants.

On the inside, the Alcatel 1 packs MediaTek’s MT6739 SoC, paired alongside 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. The device does not require a lot of processing power, as it will be running on Android Go edition of Android 8.1 Oreo. Fueling the device is a 2,000mAh battery underneath the hood.

For taking pictures, the smartphone comes equipped with a 5-megapixel camera at the back and a 2-megapixel camera up front. However, Alcatel claims both cameras to interpolate image quality of up to 8-megapixel and 5-megapixel cameras respectively. Additionally, Alcatel has also included a few features for the camera such as “Photo Booth,” “Instant Collage,” and “Social Square”, which let you compile all your best shots to create a collage of images. Connectivity options include, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G LTE.
