The upcoming Idol 5S was recently spotted on benchmarking website Geekbench, and now it has again been spotted on a benchmarking website that has again revealed its key specifications and features. As per the GFXBench listing, spotted by mobilexpose, the smartphone will feature 5.2-inch Full HD (1080p) display. Under the hood is a MediaTek Helio P20 chipset paired with 3GB of RAM. There will also be 32GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded using a microSD card. It is worth noting that the rumors are in line with previous leaks. The benchmarking listing further reveals that the Alcatel Idol 5S will sport a 12-megapixel rear camera, along with an 8-megapixel front camera. On the software front, the smartphone is said to run Android 7.0 Nougat out-of-the-box. No other details about the Idol 5S is known at the moment. However, going by the specs sheet, the upcoming smartphone might give tough competition in the mid-range series.
Apart from the technical specifications, recent rumors claim that the Idol 5S may come with some manner of modular functionality just like the Moto Z. Rumors says that the Alcatel Mod is said to glow in different colors in sync with the music played on the smartphone.
The Alcatel Idol 5, on the other hand, is rumored to come with a 13-megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, and will be powered by a MediaTek octa-core processor. Leaks suggest that the smartphone will cost around €320, which is Rs 27,400 approximately.
Alcatel Idol 5 and Idol 5S will be the successors to last year’s Idol 4 and Idol 4S respectively. To put the leaks into perspective, the Idol 4 comes with a 5.2-inch full HD IPS display with 2D glass on top. It runs Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 617 processor paired with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera. There is also an 8-megapixel selfie camera. The smartphone is powered by a 2,610mAh battery and it runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box.
The Idol 4S, on the other hand, comes with a 5.5-inch AMOLED display. The smartphone features Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor paired with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of onboard storage. The smartphone features a 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash. On the software front, the smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Alcatel’s custom UI running atop.
