Alcatel has made its foray into the tablet segment in India by launching the OneTouch POP 8S. The 4G-capable tablet is priced at Rs 10,499, and will be exclusively on sale via Flipkart. Also Read - Alcatel 3T 10 tablet launched in India; prices start from Rs 9,999
Alcatel OneTouch POP 8S specifications: The tablet flaunts an 8-inch WXGA (800×1280 pixels) TFT display, and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor paired with 1GB of RAM. The tablet also features 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 3-megapixel selfie camera, and a 4,060mAh battery that the company claims is good enough for up to 4.6 hours of video playback and 351 hours on standby mode. Also Read - Nokia to cut jobs, says slow 5G progress not cause for layoffs
Connectivity options include voice calling support, 4G LTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, and on the software front, it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. There is however no word on if Alcatel plans on updating the tablet to Android Lollipop.
The company has also introduced a bunch of offers for buyers that include a free Flipkart voucher worth Rs 500, free ear phones, and a free colored back skin for the tablet.
