The dust is just starting to settle after the Galaxy S 4 launch, but there is no respite from Samsung’s upcoming products as a report by MyDrivers posts an image, which it claims to be of the Galaxy Note III. The device in the image flaunts a 5.9-inch display, which is in line with earlier reports, but by the looks of it, the Note III retains a plastic chassis like the Galaxy S 4 and is slightly larger than its predecessor. This is rather puzzling because there have been reports about Samsung dumping plastic in favour of aluminium as it feels threatened by the improved build quality of Android OEMs like LG and HTC. Also Read - Gorilla Glass DX, DX+ to now protect your phone cameras, will debut on a Samsung phone
The report also claims that the device uses the Exynos 5 Octa chip, but its clock speeds have been bumped. Allegedly, the Cortex A15 cores will have a clock speed of 2.0GHz and the Cortex A7 core will be clocked at 1.7GHz. Samsung will also boost the RAM to 3GB and it will run on Android 4.2 just like the Galaxy S 4. Also Read - Samsung Galaxy M21 2021 vs Redmi Note 10: Which is better under Rs 15,000?
The Galaxy S 4 in comparison uses the Exynos 5 Octa processor but at lower clock speeds of 1.6GHz for the Cortex A15 cores and 1.2GHz for the Cortex A7 cores.
While all this sounds fine, the Note III is still some time away and the image could be an elaborate hoax. The image could be Photoshopped and the specs are frankly not difficult to imagine.
