A new 7-inch tablet “A4R-NX74751” spotted on the US FCC website has got everyone talking. Reason? It is powered by an NVIDIA Tegra chip and runs on an LG battery, and carries Google branding. Many people believe or want to believe that this is the third generation Nexus 7 tablet, but apparently that s not the case. It s actually Project Tango Tablet, and sadly most of us will never be able to get a hold of this device as it is not a commercial product. First spotted by Droid-Life, the device s documentation reveals its support for global roaming with LTE (bands 2, 4, 5, and 17). Also, the tablet will have a 2,480mAh battery, which is consistent with ifixit teardown of the Project Tango device from earlier this year.
As far as the next Nexus tablet is concerned, Google is expected to launch an HTC-made Nexus 9, sometime this year, probably with the rollout of Android L’s release.
