The Surge S2 is the second-generation octa-core chipset based on ARM Cortex design with four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at up to 2.2GHz and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 1.8GHz. The Surge S2 SoC uses Mali-G71 MP8 as the companion graphics processor.
Xiaomi had launched Mi 5X as Mi A1 in India, and there are already reports doing the rounds that Mi 6X will be rebranded as Mi A2 when it launches here. The Mi A1 was part of the Android One family and it is likely that the device will ship with Android One in some markets including India.
