Amazon has unveiled next generation Fire HD 8 tablets with always-ready Alexa access. The company has got all-new Fire HD 8 and Fire HD 8 Kids tablets with 8-inch HD display and up to 10 hours of battery life. Amazon claims that the Fire HD 8 is twice ‘as durable as the iPad mini 4.’ It comes with ‘world’s best content selection’ and Amazon-exclusive features.

The Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet will come in four color options of Black, Marine Blue, Punch Red, and Canary Yellow. It is priced at $79.99 (approximately Rs 5,700). The pre-order has already started and it’ll start shipping from October 4.
The Amazon Fire HD 8 Kids tablet is priced at $129.99 (approximately Rs 9,300). It can be pre-ordered today via Amazon and shipments kick off October 4. It will be available in three colors – Pink, Blue, and Yellow.
Amazon Fire HD 8, Fire HD 8 Kids Specifications and Features
The Amazon Fire HD 8 offers 1280 x 800 pixels resolution for 8-inch HD display with over 1 million pixels. It comes with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal storage. You’ll be able to expand the storage via microSD card up to 400GB. The tablet has front 720p resolution camera and the rear packs a 2-megapixel resolution camera lens. Amazon also includes Dolby Atmos audio, and dual-band Wi-Fi.
The tablet includes ‘Show Mode’ that will allow full-screen visuals with voice responses from Alexa. The hands-free access with Alexa means you can just ask Alexa to turn on the lights, play a movie, or make a video call even when the tablet screen is on standby.

The kid’s version of the Fire HD 8 also packs similar 8-inch HD display. It comes with with 32GB of storage and expandability option via via microSD card up to 400GB. Amazon says that to keep Fire HD 8 Kids tablet safe, the company has included a kid-proof case and is offering “a two-year worry-free guarantee—if they break it, return it and we’ll replace it. No questions asked.”
