Amazon India is conducting Prime Day 2018 sale where it has an interesting range of products on offer. The OnePlus 6 Red color variant is going on sale for the first time today, and at the same time, the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 smartphone will also go on sale at 1PM.
A successor to last year’s Redmi Y1, the new Redmi Y2 brings some interesting upgrades, especially with the selfie camera. It features a 16-megapixel front camera with AI beauty mode to make you look good in your selfies. The smartphone also comes with a full screen 18:9 display and dual rear cameras. The front camera also supports face unlock, which is less secure than the fingerprint sensor.

The smartphone is offered in two variants – one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage priced at Rs 9,999. There is also a variant with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage retailing for Rs 12,999.

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 specifications and features
Talking about the specifications, the Redmi Y2 sports a 5.99-inch display with HD+ resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 SoC, similar to one found on Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 4. It can be configured with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage.
Xiaomi has also stacked the smartphone with a rear dual-camera setup featuring – 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, microUSB port and 4G LTE.
On the software front, the Redmi Y2 runs MIUI 9.5 based on Android 8.1 Oreo and will be updated to MIUI 10 with new gesture support later this year. Under the hood, there is a 3,080mAh battery and the smartphone can be purchased in Grey, Gold and Rose Gold colors.
