Amazon has launched its Prime Reading service in India. The service lets Amazon Prime members access hundreds of eligible ebooks without any extra cost. The Amazon Prime Reading collection will include literature and fiction, non-fiction, romance, comics, and Indian language ebooks along with popular titles such as Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone by JK Rowling, Immortals of Meluha by Amish, One Indian Girl by Chetan Bhagat, and Operation Deep Strike by Rahul Badami. It is worth noting that the Amazon Prime Reading is separate from Kindle Unlimited. The Prime Reading has been a part of Amazon Prime in the United States since October 2016. The e-commerce company already offers Kindle Unlimited in India for Rs 150 a month. The Kindle Unlimited service was launched in September 2015 in India for Rs 199 starting plan price, these prices were revised later. The Prime Reading for India also includes various ebooks in Indian languages. As per Amazon, these collection of books will include Hindi, Marathi, and Tamil for now. User will be able to reviews these books as well. The service includes features such as Highlights, Dictionary, Search, and Whispersync from its Kindle service.
“Prime Reading builds the habit of reading,” said Rajiv Mehta, Country Manager, Kindle India, in a press statement. “Prime members can now read their favorite titles at no additional cost by conveniently downloading and reading ebooks within minutes. They can discover and read new and bestselling titles from a variety of authors at no additional cost. Ebooks under Prime Reading include all genres like Literature & Fiction, Travel, and Romance.”
To access Amazon Prime Reading service, Amazon Prime users can simply log in to their Amazon.in account on PC or smartphone and then click/tap on Read for Free button to access the entire book collection. The option will also be available for both Android or iOS device users.

Users will also be able to enjoy Prime Reading on their Kindle e-reader, or install the free Kindle reading apps on mobile, tablet, PC or Mac. It can also be accessed via 2MB Kindle Lite Android app designed for Indian readers.
