Amazon’s Summer Sale has entered its third day but the deals on smartphones and other consumer electronics just seems to be getting better. As always, the e-commerce platform is offering huge discount on Apple iPhone. The sale being held from May 13 to May 16 sees the biggest discount on iPhone 6.
As part of Summer sale, Amazon India is offering the iPhone 6 for Rs 23,999, a markdown of 19 percent on its retail price. In addition to discounted price, the e-commerce giant is also offering exchange benefit up to Rs 14,703, bring the price down to Rs 9,296. While the deal sounds tempting at first, it definitely comes with a catch.
The maximum exchange benefit of Rs 14,703 is applicable only when you exchange iPhone 7 Plus for the iPhone 6. Yes, it is almost unreasonable to expect someone to exchange an iPhone 7 Plus launched in 2016 for an iPhone 6, which was launched in 2014. In terms of exchange, the OnePlus 5T will fetch you Rs 12,000 in exchange while Google Pixel 2 XL and Samsung Galaxy Note 8 will get you only Rs 10,000 and Rs 7,000 respectively.
Let’s recap of the features of iPhone 6 for a moment. The iPhone 6 launched in September 2014 was the first major redesign of iPhone and the first to get a larger 4.7-inch Retina display with a resolution of 1334 x 750 pixels. The smartphone is powered by dual-core Apple A8 CPU coupled with 1GB RAM and 32GB storage.
The iPhone 6 features an 8-megapixel primary camera with phase detection autofocus and dual-LED flash. There is a 1.2-megapixel selfie camera with face detection and HDR support at the front. It features a front-mounted Touch ID button and is backed by a 1,810mAh battery. Apple is one of the most sought after brand in the country but the four year old iPhone 6 does not quite make the cut.

If you are really looking for an iPhone then getting an iPhone SE for Rs 17,999 will be a far better purchase. The iPhone SE, though has a smaller 4-inch display, makes for it with faster internals. It is powered by Apple A9 CPU and comes with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage. The smartphone also has an improved 12-megapixel primary camera while the selfie shooter remains the same as one on iPhone 6. Apple iPhone SE, which is assembled locally in Bengaluru, is the best-selling iPhone in India.
