In the end of September, Amazon launched its latest Echo lineup of smart speakers in India. The e-commerce company introduced all-new Echo Dot, Echo Plus, and the Echo Sub on Amazon India, and now as per company’s latest press statement, Indian consumers loved the all-new Echo Dot so much that it got sold out within two days of ‘Great Indian Festival’ sale.
According to Amazon, the Echo sold five times more than entire September and seven times more than Amazon Freedom Sale. All the Echo devices sold during the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale put together comes out to be “10 times taller than the Eiffel Tower.”
“We are delighted with the customer response to all Amazon devices – all Echo devices, Fire TV Stick, and Kindle. This year’s Great Indian Festival sale was one of the biggest Diwali for Amazon Devices yet. Customers also loved the great deals from our sellers to get them started on home automation with Alexa,” said Parag Gupta, Head – Product & Marketing, Amazon Devices.
Not just Echo devices, customers also purchased 3x more Fire TV Sticks compared to the last Diwali sale. The total Fire TV Stick sales were 22 times more compared to an average business day and “equals the length of 150 AirBus A380s”.

Amazon also claims that this Great Indian Festival sale was the biggest week for Kindle devices for entire 2018. The company sold Kindle Unlimited annual subscription four times, while the Kindle eBooks on promotion sold 11 times more than an average business day sale.
