Ben Wilson, a 74-year-old Texas businessman recounted his extraordinary experience, where his iPhone fell from a height of 9,300 feet, yet survived, NBCNews reports. The pressure popped and a newspaper flew out but I didn t see the phone go, Wilson told the publication. After we got back I looked for it on the floor and in my briefcase but couldn t find it.
Having realized that his phone had dropped out of the aircraft, he used the Find My iPhone feature to locate his device. The handset had dropped some 80 kilometers from Wilson s location. Along with his employee, Wilson drove back all the way to retrieve his iPhone.
He finally managed to locate his iPhone in traced in a fenced-in pasture, and was amazed to see it working. Apart from a few scratches, the iPhone was in working condition. The screen was intact, the phone still made calls and all other features worked as usual.
The report says that Wilson had his iPhone encased in a protective case with an external battery pack, which was the only piece that snapped off in the fall and couldn’t be found.
