Google announced Android 5.0 Lollipop alongside the new Nexus devices (Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Player) last night. An announcement of a new Android version is however incomplete without a statue at Googleplex in Mountain View. Google has put up a short video of the unveiling of the Android Lollipop statue. The statue is quite simple in terms of design and is quite literal actually. It is essentially the green Android bot holding a big lollipop it its hands. The statue will join other Android statues on the lawn outside Building 44 at Google s complex. Besides revealing the name of the next Android version, Google also put up a funny video of how it came upon the name Lollipop. The video is a casting session of sorts where several men wearing costumes of Ladoo, Licorice, Lemon Pie, even Oreo among others were contending to take the crown.
