Android 9 Pie (Go edition) brings in big improvements like faster boot, more free storage

Google only recently announced the name of the latest edition of Android, and now its Android Go’s turn to embrace the new updates from Android Pie. And Android Go is about to be updated with a new name called the Android 9 Pie (Go edition).

Android 9 Pie (Go edition) is about to get a bunch of new features as part of the new update, which include saving storage and faster boot times. According to Google, the new Android 9 Pie (Go Edition) will be smaller than any of the Android Go versions previously launched. The new Android Go version is 500MB smaller than the previous versions, effectively giving users more free space.

This is achieved by reducing the size of the already existing apps, as well as less number of pre-installed apps on the OS. The app designs have been adapted to provide the new space on the devices. Files Go app on the new Android Go will also help users manage the existing and future files on the device to manage their storage needs.

Besides these, the new Android Go comes with a built in data saver, which will help users control and monitor how much data has been used by the device. And that brings us to security, and the new Android 9 security features will be available to Android Go users as well.

The new Google Play Protect app that is available on Android 9 Pie will also be available on Android Go devices that will help protect the data and apps of the user.
