Google has updated the Android distribution data to reflect the latest market traction of different versions of its mobile operating system. According to the latest data provided by Google, Android 4.4 KitKat climbed up from 30.2 percent share it reported last month to 33.9 percent. With almost 50 percent share, Jelly Bean is still the most widely used Android version in the market today. The data, however, doesn’t say anything about the latest iteration of Google’s mobile OS Lollipop just yet. Jelly Bean (Android 4.1 through Android 4.3x) fell from 50.9 percent last month to 48.7 percent. Its predecessor software version Ice Cream Sandwich too suffered a marginal decline, going down from 8.5 percent to 7.8 percent. Years old Android 2.3x Gingerbread still has 9.1 percent of the share, despite suffering a nominal drop. Also Read - Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge get January 2019 Android Security Patch

What’s interesting about the data is that there is no information of Lollipop anywhere. It should be concerning since according to company’s terms, it lists every version of Android which has over 0.1 percent of usage. Google’s own Nexus smartphones and tablets have already received the Lollipop software update. Moreover, the company’s latest flagship Nexus devices also come with the Android 5.0 out of the box. Google hasn’t listed any device running below Android 2.2. Also Read - Google announces Live Transcribe and Sound Amplifier apps to help people with hearing impairment
