Citing a source, a report by GSMArena has claimed that some units of the Mate 10 Pro, Huawei s 2017 flagship, have already started receiving EMUI 9.0 based on Android Pie. The update is reportedly rolling out to Mate 10 Pro units sold in Europe, which are already on Android Oreo, and have model identifiers BLA-L09 and BLA-L29.
The report further adds that EMUI 9.0 introduces a new gesture-based setup for multi-task switcher, as well as version 2.0 of GPU Turbo, a feature that s said to enhance gaming performance in (some) Huawei and Honor smartphones.
Some other features included with the update are Advanced Battery (with AI optimizations), built-in support for display notches, Adaptive Brightness, and a slightly redesigned volume control slider. Of course, the usual security and performance improvements are included in the mix as well. The update package is available in two versions BLA-L09C432E4R1P8B108 and BLA-L29C432E4R1P8B108 and measures around 2.2GB in size.
