Andy Rubin s Essential PH-1 Phone launched last month, and since then, we’ve not heard much about it. The company last pre-registered for its pre-sale, and Andy Rubin at the Code Conference 2017 announced that the Essential PH-1 will start shipping later this month. The smartphone has now been certified by the FCC in the US, and therefore, we expect the device to go on sale soon. First spotted by droidlife, the certification reveals nothing new considering the company has already launched the smartphone with complete specifications and features. The listing, however, confirms the smartphone’s wireless capabilities, which includes support for all major US carriers. In addition, Essential PH-1 may actually be looking at providing some sort of water resistance feature to the phone as well. On Twitter, when a user posed a question about the smartphone’s water resistance capabilities, the company replied: we re finalizing the testing to validate our official IP rating.
Talking about the USP of the phone, the company claims that this is the world s thinnest dual camera system. Talking about the design, the smartphone is built with a combination of titanium and ceramic to add to the strength of the phone. In addition to that, the smartphone allows all accessories to be magnetically snapped to the phone. As of now, there is no word on when the smartphone will be available in the international markets including India.
