Google is all set to launch its Android One initiative in India today. We are a few minutes away from the event where we will see the unveiling of the first set of Android One smartphones for the Indian audience along with big announcements about YouTube and Newsstand, according to an Economic Times report. Sundar Pichai has confirmed to ET that Google will unveil some important news on the Newsstand and YouTube. However, details about the nature of the announcements are not yet known. Google Play Newsstand for Android is essentially an app just like Flipboard that brings together all the news from different magazines and newspapers on one single platform. The announcements regarding both these services will be made alongside the Android One launch. Announced at I/O earlier this year, this initiative is Google s vision of bringing a great Android experience at sub-$100 smartphones. It has partnered domestic smartphone vendors like Micromax, Karbonn and Spice to launch the affordable smartphone.
