It’s not just the smartphones or tablets that will see an increase in app downloads because according to the report, wearable devices will drive 50 percent of app interactions. Contrary to popular belief or more accurately hopes, the report suggests that wearable devices won’t get fully independent of primary devices like smartphones and will continue to require a companion app for interacting with users.
The report also indicates that by 2017 certain apps will get smart enough to work on their own in the background without any user intervention. This would come handy, especially for home management services, among other scenarios can work with data collected automatically than users having to input it manually. This is already visible to some extent with the direction of services we are witnessing from companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook and Apple.
