The Soluto report analyzed data from application crashes, freezes, long boot-ups and other general computing slow-downs from over 150,000 laptops between the months of January and April. The real-world tests revealed that the MacBook Pro was the best performing Windows laptop, despite not being optimized for the operating system. The MacBook Pro is closely followed by Acer’s Aspire E1-571, Dell XPS 13 and the Dell Vostro 3560 and also contains the 15-inch MacBook Pro Retina and the only Lenovo laptop, the Thinkpad X1 Carbon. The list may have some big names missing like the Samsungs, the HPs and the Sony Vaios, but it’s not too surprising considering their laptops are usually pre-loaded with a lot of bloatware which takes away the pure Windows experience. Though the 13-inch MacBook Pro topped the charts, it does have some downsides like the need to purchase and install Windows through Bootcamp or third-party PC virtualization software. Also, the Mac’s keyboard is not mapped specifically for Microsoft’s OS and drivers could be an issue for some users as well.
