Apple today announced that it is introducing iBooks Textbooks in 51 new countries including India. These multimedia textbooks offer dynamic and interactive content like animations, 3D diagrams, videos and photo galleries among others on the iPads and are targeted at students and teachers alike. These textbooks feature educational content from publishers like Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press and Hodder Education and are quite a hit in students in the US and the UK. Additionally, Apple also announced that it would be expanding the presence of iTunes U Course Manager to around 70 new countries, however India is not included in this list. This course manager essentially lets teachers create educational content plans and share it with other educators around the globe.
