Apple has inadvertently given away the names of the three new models launching today. The Cupertino-based company plans to call its 2018 iPhone lineup as iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max and iPhone XR. The names were found in a product sitemap XML file hosted by Apple on its website. According to ATH, the names are associated with devices that will be available for purchase including AppleCare support and phone cases. This new leak further confirms that Apple will not launch iPhones with names ‘iPhone XS Plus’ or ‘iPhone XC’ today. As one would expect, Apple has pulled down those pages but internet managed to grab few screenshots of these new names. The XML file pulled down by Apple also mentions the existence of the Apple Watch Series 4 and reveals a number of new cases designed by Apple for the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.
The XML file reveals Apple will offer silicone case in midnight blue, white, black, stone and Product RED variants. The leather cases will be offered in saddle brown, taupe, black and Product RED versions. There will also be leather folio cases, which were listed in black, Product RED, green, cape cod blue and peony pink. There is no case listing for the iPhone XR but Apple should announce them at the event.
Apple is not known for slipping away information about its upcoming devices but lately, it has been found to leak crucial device details. Developer Guilherme Rambo discovered marketing images for the new iPhone models and Apple Watch Series 4 in the recap section of Apple’s special event website last week. In 2016, the company’s new Twitter account leaked the iPhone 7 even before launch. The company known for secrecy is not that secret anymore.
