According to Business Insider, Apple could launch the successor to the iPhone 5C it launched in 2013. Unlike the colorful iPhone 5C, which Apple proudly described as unapologetically plastic, reports claim that iPhone 6C will boast a metal body. The publication cites a Jefferies analyst who says that in addition to the metal body, the smartphone will also flaunt a smaller 4-inch display. While this is the first time we are hearing of a metal-clad iPhone 6C, there have been rumors circulating in the past about Apple working on an iPhone with a smaller display.
Although iPhone6C is designed as an extended version, it still uses metal casing based on Apple style. We believe that Apple remains consistent in its design, the analysts said. As we have discussed previously, Apple continues to develop increased hardness for the iPhone metal casing, which requires a more complicated CNC and anodized process.
Not much else is known about this metal-clad-smaller-screened iPhone. What we have heard though is that the iPhone 6S will boast a design that is not a lot different from iPhone 6. It is likely to come with Force Touch technology seen on the Apple Watch, wireless charging, A9X quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, an amped up 12-megapixel rear camera, and an improved FaceTime camera capable of recording 1080p videos.
As with such rumors, we ask you to take it all with the proverbial pinch of salt.
