Smartwatch is a completely new arena for Apple and it might not be smashing records like the iPhone but the company is said to be “highly optimistic” about the sales potential of the Watch. These numbers though highly vary, and analysts’ estimates vary from 10 million to as much as 26 million this year. One of the sources also claims that initial targets were pegged at 36 million, but once the production started, the targets were brought down drastically owing to the complexity in the manufacturing processes. Apple hasn’t given out any pre-orders/sales numbers. The Watch was up for pre-orders earlier this month and went on sale in limited quantities earlier this week. The company seems to be struggling to meet with the demand as they recently told buyers to wait for a month before the Watches actually arrived.
On a comforting note Apple issued a statement saying, ”Our team is working to fill orders as quickly as possible based on the available supply and the order in which they were received.”
