When the new iPad was released, its 4G functionality was just restricted to the US and Canada, however Apple sold the device with the 4G tag globally, while in practice the device would only be compatible with 3G networks around the world. Today, Apple has removed the 4G branding from the iPad’s tech specs. It is now called the iPad Wi-Fi+Cellular instead to reflect it won’t work on all 4G networks. This is very important as many people thought the 4G iPad would also provide 4G Internet speeds in India and other countries where 4G networks are present.
