In addition to releasing iOS 11.2.6, Apple also rolled out watchOS 4.2.3 for Apple Watch, tvOS 11.2.6 for Apple TV, and macOS 10.13.3 for Mac which brings performance improvements.

Samsung Galaxy S9+ leak

Right in time for the upcoming MWC 2018, we now also have Geekbench score of the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S9+. Based on the leaked benchmark scores for Exynos 9810 SoC variant of the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+, it is safe to predict that the upcoming smartphones will be the fastest in the Android domain when they launch commercially.

The Galaxy S9 achieved a score of 3,648 in single-core test and 8,894 in multi-core test. The Galaxy S9+, on the other hand, achieved a score of 3,773 in single-core test and 9,024 in multi-core test. Interestingly, it is expected that the Exynos variant will end up being faster than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 version, where the Galaxy S9+ scored 2,422 in single-core test and 8,351 in multi-core test.

Nokia 8 Pro details

Details on another Nokia phone surfaced on the web today. Expected to be a high-end variant, the Nokia 8 Pro will surely take head on the Galaxy S9 duo if the newest report is to be believed. The Nokia 8 Pro is rumored to pack Snapdragon 845 SoC and will be launched by sometime at the end of the year.

It is also likely to be equipped with a Penta-lens, a system that utilizes five camera modules at the back and two LED lights. The setup could allow users to capture 360-degree photos and videos, just like the OZO camera.

Google Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL charging issue

Low temperatures can cause your phone to shut, but owners of the Google Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are reportedly complaining that after updating their devices with the February security patch, the battery life is being impacted. Some users have also observed that the Pixel 2 XL shows charging rapidly when it is actually charging slow in low temperatures.

In controlled lab tests, folks at Android Police observed that the Pixel 2 XL s charge drops to around 4W in cold conditions that is around 20 degree Celsius or lower while in room temperature it does charge at around 16W.

OpenSignal report

As per OpenSignal s The State of LTE report for February 2018, the internet speed in India has worsened over the last year. The report highlights the availability and speeds of 4G LTE networks across several international markets. Compared to global markets, India has an average 4G speed of 6.07Mbps, whereas, Singapore has the highest speed of 44.31Mbps.

What is particularly alarming for India, which is gearing towards 5G, is that the position this year has fallen since the last report of November 2017. In terms of availability of 4G signals, India ranks at number 14 (down from eleventh in November 2017) with an increased 86.26 percent coverage of 4G. The growth is attributable mostly to the telecom boom after Reliance Jio jumped into the scene in 2016. El Salvador and Algeria were last on the list with 4G availability falling below 45 percent.

Idea Cellular Rs 149 plan

Idea Cellular revised Rs 149 and Rs 109 prepaid plans for Himachal Pradesh circle. The Rs 149 plan offers you unlimited voice calls including roaming calls, 100 SMS per day, and 28GB of data for a validity of 28 days. The Rs 109 plan, on the other hand, is valid for 28 days and offers unlimited voice calls including roaming calls, 100 SMS per day and 1GB data for 28 days.

To counter this, Vodafone also introduced a new Rs 158 plan for Kerala circle which offers unlimited voice calls including Local, STD, and roaming calls within India. You also get 1GB per day 4G/3G data quota for a validity of 28 days, which takes the total data benefit to 28GB.
