The iMac Pro is the first major refresh coming to Apple’s desktop computer in nearly three years. It features an all-in-one design similar to existing iMac but comes in new Space Gray color variant. It will serve as a new product line altogether and will be placed alongside refreshed iMac series in terms of price. The new all-in-one desktop will be available soon at a starting price of Rs 415,000. The iMac Pro comes standard with a 27-inch Retina 5K display and can be configured with up to 18-core Intel Xeon W processor. The all-in-one desktop can be specced with up to 128GB DDR4 memory and up to 4TB solid-state storage. The iMac Pro comes standard with Radeon Vega 56 GPU but can also be configured with Radeon 64 GPU with 16GB of video memory. Apple has also redesigned the chassis to offer better heat dissipation and improved thermal management. There is also an updated 1080p FaceTime HD camera and support for extended desktop and video mirroring modes. In terms of ports, the new iMac Pro includes four USB 3.0 port, four Thunderbolt 3 port with USB Type-C, SDXC card slot, a 3.5mm headphone jack and gigabit ethernet port.
There are also stereo speakers with four microphones and connectivity options like WiFi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.2. The iMac Pro comes bundled with space gray magic keyboard with numeric keypad, space gray magic mouse 2 and optional space gray magic trackpad 2. Apple is also including a black USB-C to Lightning cable with the package.
Earlier in the day, Apple also announced Final Cut Pro X with support for 360-degree VR editing optimized specifically for iMac Pro.
