Apple just released the third developer beta of iOS 12 to all eligible devices. For the release of iOS 12, Apple is supporting devices that date back to the iPhone 5S, which was launched in 2013. The new developer beta brings a number of bug fixes and other software improvements, which brings it closer to the goldmaster version, expected to be released alongside new iPhone models in September.
The new developer beta does not bring a tonne of new features or features that can be deemed super interesting but it does pack a number of features that are worth highlighting. Clear All Notifications now has a springy animation and users can now swipe to clear alerts in one swipe similar to iOS 11. The update now only highlights new Siri watch face updates in the Apple Watch face gallery. It previously showed watchOS 4 faces.
The third developer beta brings redesigned voice memos on iPad while CarPlay has been fixed when using side and backup cameras. Apple has also tweaked the FaceTime effect picker and Watch app now shows third party apps that work with Siri watch face. There is also addition of 11 activity app stickers that animate and do not require special challenge to unlock.
To get the latest developer beta, you should have a developer account with Apple and promptly check the Software Update menu in Settings. If you don’t have a developer account then your best bet is to experience these new features via public beta release. Apple released first public beta of iOS 12 last month.
Apple should push these new features to public beta with the second version, which could arrive later this month. With iOS 12, Apple is not bringing a number of changes and has mostly focused on system level improvements. It brings several new features including ARKit 2.0 that enables shared experiences and support for grouped notifications.

Apple is also granting Siri more access in third-party apps via Siri Shortcuts that allows iPhone users to create their own workflow. There are updates to key apps like Stocks, Voice Memos, Apple Books and Apple News and updated Do Not Disturb settings and Screen Time feature. With iOS 12, FaceTime now supports chatting with up to 32 users.
