Ahead of its final release in fall, Apple has just released the third public beta for iOS 12. The update comes two weeks after Apple seeded the second public beta, and also focuses on minor tweaks and updates. For those who are unaware, public beta gives non-developers a chance to get a glimpse of iOS 12 on their iPhones and iPads, much ahead of the final release. Doing that will also give you an early access to beta versions of macOS Mojave, and tvOS 12. However, it is important to note that these are beta versions of the operating systems, which means that they are a little unstable and carry plenty of bugs. It s recommended to take a back-up of your device before trying it. Also Read - iPhone 12 series October 13 launch date tipped, Apple could start pre-orders from October 16
The new update corresponds with the fourth developer beta release and includes some new app stickers, Memoji customization along with some minor improvements made to the Wallet app. However, Apple has also stated about a few bugs making an appearance. iPhone X users might get an inaccurate cellular signal, while apps might not download in the first go. There are also said to be some issues with Screen time data syncing between devices.
Watch: Apple iOS 12 features
While the bugs are a big part of the beta operating system, Apple has promised to bring plenty of new features with the new iOS 12. One of the biggest one is providing performance improvements for older iPhones and iPads. Apple is also giving Siri more access to third-party apps via Siri Shortcuts that allows users to trigger multiple actions with a single voice command on the phone.
Additionally, iOS 12 will also offer a wide set of news features such as group FaceTime, Memoji, Animojis, multiplayer AR capabilities and more. Apple is expected to release the final update of iOS 12 in September.
