Just a week after releasing the first public beta for iOS 12, Apple has followed it up with the second public beta for the iPhone and iPad. The public beta gives non-developers a chance to get a glimpse of iOS 12 ahead of its final release, which is expected in September. Beta testers who have already signed up for the program will receive the new update on-the-air. On the other hand, if you re interested in joining the beta program, then you can sign up on Apple s beta testing website. Besides iOS 12, signing up will also give you an early access to beta versions of macOS Mojave, and tvOS 12. However, it is important to note that these are still beta versions of the operating systems, which means they are a little unstable and carry plenty of bugs. Coming back to the public beta of iOS 12, it comes with a few new features. The most noticeable is rebuilding Maps app, which provides a new representation of a variety of elements in the map, including buildings, roads and traffic conditions. It has been redesigned to look better and provide more information. However, at the moment, it s only available for the San Francisco Bay Area. Apple plans on expanding the feature to other locations of United States in the upcoming year.
Besides that, the update includes a few minor features and tweaks, including a new interface for the Voice Memo app on the iPad. There is also a new Share My Location setting included, and options to clear off all the iPad notifications with the help of a long press.

With the iOS 12, Apple is also bringing in Siri Shortcuts app, which allows you to trigger multiple actions on third-party apps, with a single voice command on the phone. Apple is expected to release the final update of iOS 12 in September.
