Apple is believed to be unveiling new iPads at its event tomorrow night. MacRumors sources claim that shipments of new products have started arriving in the US, and they are set to go on sale on October 24. According to the report, these new products are likely to be the forthcoming tablets. Barring the launch of a brand new category of product like the Watch, Apple has usually started selling products a week after unveiling it. Last year too Apple unveiled the iPad Air and the Retina iPad mini on October 22, and the former went on sale in the US on November 1. The Retina iPad mini shipment was delayed by a few weeks later due to supply issues. Also Read - Apple CEO Tim Cook claims iOS is more secure than Android
In this case, either or both the new iPads could go on sale on October 24. A report from earlier today however claimed that the iPad Air 2 could be available in limited quantities. One of the primary reasons for the limited quantities according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is the poor yield rate of anti-reflective coating cover lens.
As for the Retina iPad mini 2, the analyst claims that the new iPad is not a major update. Plus, it too is likely to be available in limited quantities, because Apple is using quite a bit of its resources on the rumored 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
In addition to the new iPads, Apple is also set to unveil new Retina iMac at its event tomorrow night. The 27-inch Retina iMac is expected to go on sale before the end of the year, while the 21-inch iMac is only expected to arrive in the second half of next year.
Apple s event tomorrow kicks off at 10:30PM IST. We will be covering the event live and bringing you the latest updates. So stay tuned!
