As the tradition goes, Apple will announce its next generation iPads sometime in October this year. We have heard a lot about the larger iPad Pro, but not much about the iPad mini 4 has surfaced. However, Pocketnow claims that it has got hold of some images of the next gen iPad’s silicon case that reveals a few details on what the iPad mini 4 could possibly entail.
The case suggests that the iPad mini 4, just like the iPad Air 2, will ditch the mute switch to make room for another microphone. The bottom casing structure suggests that the iPad will sport a single-line speaker bar at the bottom – again aping the iPad Air 2.
We suggest that you take this news with a pinch of salt as Apple is known for making many prototypes, and many features are ditched when the final product is revealed.
All we hope is that the iPad mini 4 is not as disappointing as the iPad mini 3 which brought along minimal changes. It had the same display, the same RAM, even the same processor and coprocessor as its predecessor, and the only significant change that could be seen was the addition of the Touch ID fingerprint sensor.
