Although the next-generation iPad pro is still a day away from being launched, rumors continue to circulate on what to expect. Apple is hosting an event in New York tomorrow where it is expected to unveil the new Apple iPad Pro, the successor to the MacBook Air and the new Mac Mini, along with other smaller announcements including the roll-out of iOS 12.1 which enables eSIM support on the new iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR. And while we haven’t seen anything concrete on the iPad Pro yet, this latest bit of information gives away quite a bit. A new report by 9to5Mac shows an icon found within iOS for the new iPad Pro. These icons are stored within the system for various purposes, including settings and indicators for users that own multiple iOS devices. The icons are usually fairly accurate sketches of the actual product, and this particular icon gives away a fair amount about the iPad Pro design. For one, it shows a bezel-less design with no chin or forehead, suggesting that the home button will be done away with on the upcoming iPad. The sketch also shows rounded corners on the screen like on the newer iPhones, as well as buttons for power and volume at the top and right sides respectively. The design is similar to that of the iPhones as originally seen on last year’s Apple iPhone X, but there is notably no notch on the iPad Pro icon. This suggests that the front camera for Face ID could be on the top edge, which will be wider than the one on the iPhones. Since the iPad doesn’t need to implement a earpiece or proximity sensor at the front, Apple could make the design work even without a notch.
