After months of speculations, rumors and leaked specifications, Apple has finally launched the highly-anticipated iPad Pro with 12.9-inch screen. Along with a large screen, the iPad Pro comes with a bunch of new features such as the 3D Touch feature, support for stylus called Apple Pencil and Apple-made Smart Keyboard. The iPad Pro will be available in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + Cellular variants. Unlike other iPads, the iPad Pro will be available in 32GB and 128GB variants. In terms of pricing in the US, the Wi-Fi only 32GB iPad Pro will cost $799 whereas the 128GB variant will cost $949. The Wi-Fi + Cellular 128GB variant with built-in 4G LTE will cost $1079. With this type of pricing, the iPad Pro is not only the most expensive iPad yet, but also is slightly affordable compared to the new MacBook. Apple iPad Pro specifications and features: It flaunts a 12.9-inch LED-backlit display running at a resolution of 2732×2030 pixels. It is powered by Apple’s A9X 64-bit processor paired with M9 motion coprocessor and 4GB of RAM. It will be available in 32GB and 128GB storage options. Also Read - Beware! On the photography front, the iPad Pro is equipped with an 8-megapixel primary camera and a front-facing FaceTime HD camera. It features a non-removable Li-Po battery which Apple claims is good enough to offer battery life of 10 hours. Connectivity options like 4G LTE (Wi-Fi + Cellular variant), Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11ac are also present.
In terms of design, the iPad Pro retains the design language of the iPad Air 2, with the only difference being slightly larger screen. Despite the big screen, the tablet is just tad thicker than that iPad Air 2 at 6.9mm and weighs around 712 grams.
Other features such as Apple Pay and Touch ID fingerprint sensor are present on the tablet. One of the talking points of the iPad Pro is the new Force Touch feature that can distinguish between three different types of taps – a tap, a press and a deep press. It also comes with four speakers to offer an immersive audio listening experience. That’s not all; the iPad Pro also supports split-view multi-tasking with two full size apps running side by side.
While it is expected to become available starting from November, the Indian pricing and availability is not known yet.
