The fourth-generation Apple TV is now on sale, and all eyes now turn to the iPad Pro, which too was unveiled at the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus launch event in September. With Apple only alluding to a November launch, we might have a more specific date of launch.
Apple’s gargantuan iPad Pro will go on sale on November 11 in select countries. This piece of information comes from 9To5Mac’s Mark Gurman, who has a stellar record when it comes to Apple rumors.
In the run up to the launch, Apple has been hosting invite-only events showing off the iPad Pro to artists and education experts to get their feedback. Initial feedback for the iPad Pro, and its accessories like the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil are largely positive.
The iPad Pro is aimed at designers, artists and those who need a powerful tablet for creation, to target a different segment considering iPads have typically been looked upon as content consumption devices. The iPad Pro prices start from $799 (Rs 51,960 approximately) for the Wi-Fi only 32GB variant. The 128GB variant is priced at $949 (Rs 61,714 approximately), while the Wi-Fi + Cellular 128GB variant with built-in 4G LTE costs $1,079 (Rs 70,168 approximately).
Apple iPad Pro specifications and features: The tablet features a 12.9-inch (2732×2030 pixels) LED-backlit display, A9X 64-bit processor, M9 motion coprocessor and 4GB of RAM. It also comes with an 8-megapixel primary camera, FaceTime HD camera up front.
With the launch of the iPad Pro, Apple will be hoping for a change in fortune as far as tablet sales are concerned. Despite announcing yet another record-breaking quarterly earnings, the one blip was the consistently falling iPad sales. It only managed to sell 9.9 million iPads this quarter, compared to 12.5 million in the same period last year.
