After recently launching the iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, Apple Watch and the iPad mini 4, Apple is now launching the iPad Pro in India on Friday, December 11, BGR India has confirmed. Besides the large screen, the iPad Pro also comes with a bunch of new features such as support for stylus called Apple Pencil and Apple-made Smart Keyboard.
Apple iPad Pro price: The iPad Pro is available in Wi-Fi only and Wi-Fi + Cellular variants. According to the Quint, the entry-level 32GB Wi-Fi only storage variant is priced at Rs 67,900, whereas the 128GB Wi-Fi only storage variant is priced at Rs 79,990. The Wi-Fi + Cellular variant only comes with 128GB storage variant and it’s priced at Rs 91,900.
While the pricing makes iPad Pro the most expensive iPad yet, details on the pricing of Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard are unavailable at the moment.
Apple iPad Pro specifications and features: Design wise, iPad Pro retains the iPad Air 2 form factor, with the only difference being a slightly larger screen. With a thickness of 6.9mm, it weighs around 712 grams. It flaunts 12.9-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD display that runs at a resolution of 2048×2732 pixels. It is powered by Apple’s A9X dual-core 64-bit processor paired with M9 motion coprocessor and 4GB of RAM.
The iPad Pro also comes equipped with an 8-megapixel rear camera and a front-facing FaceTime HD camera. It features a non-removable Li-Po battery which Apple claims to be good enough for up to 10 hours of usage. In terms of connectivity, 4G LTE (Wi-Fi + Cellular variant), Bluetooth and Wi-Fi 802.11ac are present. On the software front, it ships with iOS 9 out-of-the-box, and iOS 9.2 update is also available for download.
Other features found on iPad Air 2, such as Apple Pay and Touch ID fingerprint sensor are present here. The iPad Pro is also one of Apple’s first tablets to come equipped with four speakers. Apple claims that it offers an immersive listening experience. Lastly, the iPad Pro also supports split-view multi-tasking where you can run two full sized apps side by side.
