As we get closer to the launch of the new Apple iPhones, the chatter has picked up. A new report suggests that the most affordable of 2018’s iPhones, the 6.1-inch LCD screen device will come in a variety of bright, flashy and no doubt adventurous color options. This indicates that Apple could well be bringing back the same philosophy that led to the launch of the Apple iPhone 5C back in 2013.
The report on the color options comes from Japanese site Macotakara, which offers a slightly differing viewpoint from the predictions by noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who suggested a different set of colors that the phone could come with. The current report states that the new iPhone could in white, black, flash yellow, bright orange, electric blue and taupe. Notably missing from the list is red, which could be saved for the (PRODUCT) Red special edition devices that are released from time to time.
Apple’s new 6.1-inch LCD screen iPhone is one of three new devices expected to launch this year, alongside two OLED screen devices from the company. The new phone will feature a design and edge-to-edge screen that is similar to the Apple iPhone X, but the use of the LCD screen and possibly other more affordable components and materials will allow Apple to price the device as an entry-level option. Ming-Chi Kuo suggests that pricing could start at $600 (approximately Rs 41,000) for the new starter iPhone.

As is usually the case, the new Apple iPhones are likely to be revealed in September this year, going on sale in the United States and other select markets first, and eventually coming to India a few weeks later. Pricing for the OLED models will be expectedly high, considering that the iPhone X is currently priced at around Rs 90,000 in India.
